When in first lecturer class of history art and design, Dr. Ray asked "who like history?" and many student respond that most of them hate history. After explanation by Dr Ray, I find that the meaning of history for students in class and Dr Ray are different. Most, if not all, students only think about the history subject when asked something about history. I analysis the word 'history' and I found that it is combination of 'his' and 'story'. Why is 'his' + 'story' and not 'her' + 'story'? In my opinion, it maybe just because the status of men is higher than women from long time ago. I also realize that history not only refer to something long time ago. An hour, a minute or even a second that just pass through are also a history - history in our life.
What is design?
Design is so broad that refer to many things like fashion design, architectural design, car interior design, graphic design and many more. Design is a kind of creation by someone and based on his/her own style.
What I get from the word 'design' is 'the' 'sign'(signature). Signature is same as design which mean that they are different just because they are created by the creator based on his/her own style.
What is art?
Art is something for people to express themselves or to describe something (especially for religion). When I still in form 6 and having my chinese study, I realize that ancients(stone age) are express themselves through sound before the present of drawing(art) and words. After that, they(caveman) start to draw to record or express something. From that onwards, people started to realize about the present of art and it spread all over the world. Drawings, ceramics, sculpture and many more are consider as an art in their society.
What do you want from this course?
I want to learn more design skills, know more design's medium/software and improve my design skills.
What do you want to be doing in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?
In 5 years time, I will try to get more experience of design and keep on practice on it.
In 10 years time, I will join in a company and work as a designer. This period I also keep learning from my senior. Besides that, I will try to create my own style of design.(most of designers are design something based on customer's need. If a designer able to produce many outstanding idea, probably customer will easy to accept the designer's ideas.)
In 20 years time, I maybe will having my own company and I will try possible to make my brand become popular among society.
What do you hope to get from this particular class?
I hope that I can get more information about pass time design and get some inspiration. This is because design nowadays(especially car design) are almost same among each other for their design concept.
Is history of art and design necessary do you think for your larger goals?
Yes~ because it make me know more better about art and design.

This picture is the ugliest thing for me. Although some country/company is in good condition and complete with every needs, the system of management will collapse just because of corruption. Besides that, the name of country/country will be destroy.
